« Martiniquaise au Banjo » Automate à musique à quatre mouvements de fabrication française de Gustave VICHY, modèle plagié par Léopold LAMBERT (« Noir au Banjo » voir texte ci contre), tête en carton moulé avec yeux mobiles en verre, mouvement de la tête, des yeux, du bras droit qui joue du banjo et très gracieux mouvement de la jambe droite qui se lève et s'abaisse en cadence avec la musique à deux airs. Habillé d'origine en martiniquaise. Socle carré habillé de franges vertes à la façon d'un pagne. Clef et bouton d'arrêt avec gland (caractéristique de la maison VICHY mais ici réalisé par Léopold LAMBERT). H 60 cm. (circa 1888) Intéressant modèle, en particulier en raison de son témoignage. “The black Lady playing Banjo”. French mademusical automaton by Gustave VICHY AND Léopold LAMBERT, papier maché head, hands and feet, original dress. Wooden square base red velvet covered. H 24” (circa 1888). The automaton play banjo with the right hand, move the head back and front, left to right, move the right to the left with the music tone, move the eyes. All original. Interesting model as he was in the centre of the Claim and Suit by Gustave Vichy again Léopold LAMBERT in 1888. This Suit concerned three models used by Léopold Lambert but created by Gustave Vichy. Finally Gustave Vichy lost the Suit and Léopold Lambert continueted to produce his automatons but changed completely the style of his production. The reason why Gustave Vichy lost his Suit was because the Justice don't accepted that an automaton could be an ART OBJEKT and so could not be protected……..!!!!.... 3/4000 euros
